MRI Procedure

The ATEC® MRI handpiece is fully compatible in the MRI environment

The patient is moved inside the bore of the magnet and the breast is imaged pre-contrast in 3mm slices

Image of the breast once placed in the MRI Compression Grid

The patient is brought out of the magnet bore and prepared for biopsy using the single-use Suros MRI-safe Introducer Set and ATEC® biopsy system

The Introducer Stylet is placed in the Introducer Sheath, allowing for a pathway to the biopsy target site

The Schroeder "Y" Valve allows the physician to administer additional Lidocaine during the biopsy without the removal of the biopsy device from the patient

ATEC® needle insertion to the biopsy site is accessed through the Introducer Sheath

MRI-guided breast biopsy with the ATEC® can be performed in less than 40 minutes

MRI-guided breast biopsy with the ATEC® provides a non-surgical, minimally invasive biopsy to women at high-risk of breast disease or cancer

After completing an MRI-guided breast biopsy with the ATEC®, patients can typically resume normal daily routines

After the biopsy procedure, a marker is placed through the needle aperture and to the biopsy cavity for future reference of the biopsy site
